What is “BodyLuxe Now”?

I have “re-branded” my coaching business to “BodyLuxe Now” (formerly Alchemy 1.0 Coaching) and I’ll explain why. The decades I have spent thrashing around, up and down the scale, feeling despondent that I could never permanently stabilize my weight eventually led me to the concept of LUXE. I realized, under everything, I most want to feel LUXURIOUS in my skin, in life. Period.
That’s it! All the frustrations, fat rolls, insane sugar binges, manic restriction (liquid diet anyone?? OOOOF!), lose/gain cycles add up to feeling the exact opposite of LUXURIOUS. I got sick and tired and tired and sick of feeling - disempowered & angry; constant sluggish, cranky, irritable feelings about food & my body relationship. I realized I was basically addicted to this state of self-dissatisfaction. I studied up on how I had inadvertently wired my brain to be dependent on my lousy food habits and emotionally dysregulated behaviors. It all felt grungy, grubby, desperate; NOT glamorous, not playful, joyful, not luxe. I didn’t FEEL G O O D, luxuriously GOOD, and that’s not how I wanted to live! How about you?
I am talking about REAL luxury here. I summarize it with the phrase, “peace with food & body is the ultimate luxury”. Because, it IS. If we are not at ease with these parts of our lives, all the LVMH brand leather, shoes, jet-setting, houses or jewels in the world don’t add up to a hill of beans. Stuff & things are great, no kidding! (Balenciaga stilettos please!), but when you go to bed avoiding mirrors, hiding from your lover, bloated, angry at your eating, dreading food or exercise, worried about whether you fit those jeans, etc., living is not thriving! Let’s THRIVE!
All of my (previously named) High Satiety Method tools and mindset practices have been further refined into a focus on feeling LUXE in our bodies as the path toward food management, weight loss and - peace. I have found that relieving pressure on food/diet obsession and instead, diving into myriad ways to NOURISH #heartmindbodysoulspirit is the key . . .
NO MORE:
Restriction, punishment, self-attack, blame & shame, guilt, rigid programs, bondage to the scale
INSTEAD:
PLEASURE - Feeeeeeeling goooooood! Practicing nervous system soothing, embodying p l e a s u r e, ramping up overall sensuality, choosing to relish & solidifying a sense of food freedom (YES! it exists:-) with brain habits rewiring are far, far more effective than “dieting”. And - bonus - this is more fun! It’s an adventure to use these tricks. What a change, eh?
“BodyLuxe NOW” - the “now” refers to being present. Every moment is a chance to practice exquisite self care. For many of us, dieting decades have created a chronic sense of “when I…” futurism. We’re in a constant state of suspense - never content HERE, always floating in the fantasy world of later - delayed living escapism. This is an accidental prohibition of joy NOW, of fully living our experiences, a restriction of our full participation of l i f e. We’re holding back our now in gambling anticipation of a more perfect experience when we lose the jiggly thighs. “When my belly is flat I will start dating”, “when my arm swag is gone I can dance in public”, “once I shrink my double chin I will apply for that job”. (Once, in college, when I felt “fat”, I spent a really fun Newport Beach bonfire party, with cute boys and hilarious girls, hunkered down on a blanket in a jacket! while everyone danced, played tipsy volleyball and roasted marshmallows. Not exactly BodyLuxe NOW freedom! Do you have a delay & prohibition story?)
